Left 4 Dead is a classic four-player co-op game where you fight hordes of infected and attempt to make your way to a safe-houses or an escape vehicle. Although it has attracted a large player base, there were only two Left 4 Dead games.
For eleven years, many have wondered if a Left 4 Dead 3 was in the works. Sadly, we never did see the third variation of the zombie-horde shooting game. However, during The Game Awards this past Friday, we were given what many have wanted for years. The announcement for a new Left 4 Dead-style game. It is called Back 4 Blood, and it is being developed by the same developer who created the original Left 4 Dead games, Turtle Rock Studios.
In the trailer, we can see that the game will have, yet again, four players, and you will be fighting hordes of infected. You will also notice that the game will include special infected that appear to have taken ideas from the original Left 4 Dead games. We see an infected that looks like a mixture of a hunter and a spitter. We also see another special infected that looks like a tank and a boomer combination.
All-in-all, the game looks fantastic! It brings me back to the days when I would play Left 4 Dead 1/2 for hours with my friends, enjoying the fun shenanigans that may arise from a Tank coming out of nowhere or a Witch scaring the living hell out of all of us.
Oh, and on an additional note, it looks like a video of pre-alpha gameplay was released. You can view it below.
I cannot wait for this game to come out!
Back 4 Blood is set to be released on June 22nd, 2021.
