Bungie has confirmed that there Online First-Person Shooter, Destiny 2 will be getting cross-play in 2021. However, Bungie did not specify which platforms will support cross-play, nor did they state exactly when cross-play will be available next year, we do know it is coming.
This announcement follows the recent release of Cross Save, which allowed you to access your character and gear on any platform that you play Destiny 2 on. Before this release, your progression was locked to the platform that you created your character on.
The release of cross-play will be a much-needed feature, especially for those that play the game on Google Stadia. It has been reported that the player base of Google Stadia is slim for Destiny 2, so the release of cross-play will open up a bigger world for those on that platform.
Along with the cross-play announcement, the Destiny Dev Team mentioned a few other features that will be releasing soon. You can find the full dev post on Bungie's website.
Destiny 2 is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia.
