Recently, the Endwalker expansion was announced to be releasing this Fall. The expansion will conclude the long-running 10-year storyline that we have come to love. However, the current Shadowbringers storyline still needs to conclude and pave its way into the next expansion.
Enter in part one of the final major patch for Shadowbringers. Patch 5.5, which will release on April 13th, 2021, will lead into the next expansion. It will be titled "Death Unto Dawn." It will include a handful of content to help players prepare for Endwalker's release.
The patch will include additional Main Story Quests, the third chapter of the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse raid series, more performer actions, and new dungeons added to the game's "Explorer Mode."
The added Main Story Quests will include a new dungeon called Paglth'an, which can be completed in a party or using the games Trust System.
The patch will also include updates to The Sorrow of Werlyt and Save the Queen questlines. This will bring in a new zone called Zadnor, and the expansion's relic weapons will be getting their final upgrades.
The patch's release date coincides with the PlayStation 5 open beta, allowing players who own the PlayStation 4 version of the game to play on their PlayStation 5. The game will support 4K resolution, faster load times, and increase frame rates on the next-gen console.
Other than that, the patch will include the general Quality of Life improvements, job adjustments, new mounts, and other things that are in every major patch.
