China, Japan, Korea and the US are top markets for the F2P game.
Without a doubt the most successful launch for an original IP from a Chinese dev. https://t.co/WjOOpLa66V
Genshin Impact, which launched to PC, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 4 less than two weeks ago, is hugely popular in China, Japan, Korea, and the US markets. It currently is holding spots in the top-grossing app for both the Google Play Store, as well as the Apple App Store.
The game has already grossed in the total budget the game had for development and marketing. Genshin Impact had a $100 million budget, and it has already earned that back. It is clear that Genshin Impact is one of the most successful, if not the most successful, original IP game that came out of China.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world RPG that has many similarities with Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game offers many features such as elemental interaction, co-op gameplay, and a vast amount of content. However, the game is not done, as developers miHoYo have stated that they will release content updates to the game soon.
