Even with COVID-19 causing a lot of delays and setbacks, some companies are still able to go ahead with their projects. Microsoft's xCloud is one of them!

Today, Microsoft announced that they are now going to expand the preview of Project xCloud into 11 new countries. These 11 countries are...

  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Spain
  • Sweden

According to their blog post, it looks like they want to go forward with this release during this time, especially with a lot of countries receiving orders to stay at home.

Anyone in these countries can now sign up for the Android version of xCloud. Microsoft will be keeping an eye on usage. Stated by Catherine Gluckstein, "We know gaming is an important way for people to remain connected, particularly during these times of social distancing, but we also recognize how internet bandwidth has been impacted with strain on regional networks as large volumes of people responsibly stay home and go online.".

Microsoft continues to push for the full launch of Project xCloud later this year, however, this may change.
