During the Tokyo Game Show 2020 stream, Square Enix announced the remake of their Japanese exclusive RPG NieR Replicant. The new title, labeled as an "alternative version" of the original game, is NieR Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139.

During the announcement, we were shown a gameplay demo of the remake. This gameplay demo showcased the combat and exploration of the game. We were also given details on when the game will be released. NieR Replicant will come to the United States and Europe on April 23rd, 2021, and will release a day earlier in Japan on April 22nd.

This remake will be the first time the game has ever been released outside of the Japanese market. It will expand on the original game with upgraded visuals, an expanded story, world, and quests. It will also modify the game's combat animations to make it similar to that on NieR Automata.

NieR Replicant is set thousands of years prior to the events of NieR Automata. It follows the story of a young man with a talking grimoire that seeks the key to saving his sister.

Are you excited to finally be able to play NieR Replicant in the west?
