Grinding Gear Games announced that on June 19th of this month, you will be able to experience new content in Path of Exile. The new content involves... farming?
To be exact, you will be able to grow monsters to "harvest" for their loot—an exciting concept, in my opinion, for Path of Exile. I honestly did not see this coming.
Like all of Grinding Gear Game's past content releases, Harvest is entirely free and does not bring in any pay-to-win mechanics to the game. The Harvest expansion includes the Harvest challenge league, and many revamps and changes to the games areas and older content, including boosting the power of two-handed character builds.
In Harvest, you will meet a new character, Oshabi, who was cast out by the Azmeri. Oshabi's interest in the powerful potential of the land makes her lose touch with the practices of the Azmeri, and begin on a quest to find her own identity.
Harvest also introduces "Seed Caches." These are chests/caches that are placed throughout the game's maps and allows you to gather seeds and plant them in a new area called the Sacred Grove. The Sacred Grove will enable you to harvest these plants for life force to create powerful weapons and battle mighty monsters.
I will have to get back into Path of Exile when this expansion releases!
