Red Dead Online recently got a new patch. The online version of the popular Red Dead Redemption 2 now has a new Frontier Pursuit. It is called The Naturalist, and it focuses on tracking Legendary Animals.
When players decide to take up this new role, they will work with Harriet Davenport. Harriet aims to protect and study the region's rarest animals, and you will help him do so. Your goal will be to hunt down these animals, sedate them, and obtain blood samples to return to Harriet.
You can choose a more grim path. You can work with Gus McMillan, a big game hunter, to bring him the legendary animal pelts. Once you bring them to him, he will, in return, give you unique clothes that can only be obtained through this method.
Be wary, though. Harriet will take notice if you start poaching the animals. So, decide which path you want to choose.
Depending on the path you choose, you will unlock different achievements, weapons, and more. Working with Gus will award you the Elephant Rifle and its one-shot, one-kill Nitro Express ammunition, while working with Harriet will give you a Varmint Rifle and sedative cartridges. You can also get an exclusive horse as well as a new advanced camera.
Alongside the Naturalist content, the game received a handful of other tweaks and improvements, such as a more visible minimap threat indicator, asynchronous matchmaking, and more.
