A few days back, I decided to open up Shadow on my laptop to stream some Monster Hunter World, only to be greeted with an unfamiliar message on the loading screen.
"An Issue happened during the Update"
It made me think, "Oh no, will Shadow not run?", but, the launcher opened up without issue, and I was able to log in, launch my Shadow, and get right to streaming.
So, what is this error? Why does it happen? And, how can I fix it?
Those are the questions that I will answer in this post! So here you go.
What is this error and why does it happen?
This error is rather simple. It is what it states. An issue happened during the update process of the Shadow launcher. This could be because your internet cut out, or you accidentally closed the launcher while it was attempting to update. It could also be caused by a few other unknown reasons.
Ultimately, it is going to halt your Shadow client from updating, and from what I noticed, it will not resolve itself.
How can you fix it?
The only way I have found to fix this issue is to reinstall your Shadow Client.
Start by uninstalling Shadow from your computer. Once this is completed, head over to Shadow's website and log in. Download the Stable (or Beta) client for the operating system you use, and install it.
Once it is reinstalled, you should be able to launch it and update your client to the most recent version without any issue. This time, try and make sure the update is not interrupted at all, otherwise, you will need to uninstall and reinstall again.
I have only encountered this error once. I am sharing what I did to fix this issue. If you, by chance, also encountered this error and fixed it with a different message, comment it below so it can be added to the post. The more resolutions we have, the better!
