In response to the uptick of Shadow users because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Shadow has recently decided to update the hibernation policy on all Shadow users.

With the new policy in place, your Shadow will now be shut down after 30 minutes of inactivity. This news comes from the Shadow PC Reddit in a post by /u/Mr_Shadow_Guy.

Hibernation policy: we have updated our hibernation policy as of this morning so that each user’s Shadow will shut down after 30 consecutive minutes of inactivity.

Mr_Shadow_Guy also mentioned in the post that the Shadow Boost activations will be slowed down in response to the increased load on their infrastructure, and they will continue to monitor the situation.

If you did not know yet, Shadow's CEO released a statement about how Covid-19 is affecting Shadow. Many cloud-related companies are dealing with increased usage from people working from home or unable to work. You can read more about this in my post, Covid-19 and its effects on Cloud Gaming.

I hope Shadow continues to keep its customers updated on what is happening, and I hope this coronavirus pandemic will end sooner rather than later! But, we shall see!

Stay safe and Game On!
