Google Stadia has been in the news quite a bit in 2021. From losing key members of their team to the closure of Stadia Games & Entertainment, from the consumer's point of view, it is not looking too good for the service.

But fret not, the developer marketing lead, Nate Ahearn, has told GamesIndustry.biz that the platform is "alive and well."

He even goes on to state that they plan to release over 100 new games in 2021.

"We're well on our way to over 100 new games launching on Stadia in 2021, and we're continuing to make Stadia a great place to play games on devices you already own.I'd tell any non-believers to take notice of how we're continuing to put our words into action, as we grow the Stadia Makers program and partner with AAA studios like Capcom, EA, Square Enix, Ubisoft and others." - Nate Ahearn, Developer Marketing Lead, Stadia.

When GameIndustry.biz pushed for more information, Nate responded that they are focusing on delivering value to their partners on behalf of Stadia players. He also noted how AAA games such as Resident Evil 7 and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order were recently made available to Stadia Pro subscribers.

While they were at it, GameIndustry.biz found out who is now leading the product team at Stadia. After John Justice left the company, they were told that Dov Zimring, long-time Googler, and Stadia Founder, now leads the team.

Good to see that they found someone to take over the team, and it is good to see that Google is, at least, telling us that Stadia is in a good position. Hopefully, this is true, and the service continues to strive and evolve!
