The long-awaited 1.5 update for Stardew Valley has been released today. Initially mentioned by Stardew Valley's developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone earlier this year, the update has been teased for quite some time. Today is finally the day that PC players can play the new update!
Just yesterday, Barone tweeted a few more teasers for today's update.
On the official announcement post over on Stardew Valley's Website, Barone mentions that the update will only be available for PC users, with the update coming to consoles early next year. The mobile version of Stardew Valley will receive the update last, and there is no set timeline for when that will be.
Of the many features that have been teased over the last year, we finally get to see the full changelog of what this massive update brings to the game. Below, you can find a list of some of the updates. You can also check out the full changelog if you would like.
New Game Options
A new farm will be available for you to select in-game. It is titled the "Beach Farm."
It is one of the biggest available farms with good opportunities in fishing and foraging. However, the Beach Farm is covered in sandy soil that prevents you from using sprinklers.
Advanced Game Options
In the 1.5 update, you will have the ability to adjust various options during character creation that will alter how your playthrough will be.
Split Screen (Local) Co-Op
One of the most teased features was the Split Screen Co-Op. You will be able to play with up to three other players in your Stardew Valley game session. It is good to note that this is for local co-op only.
Other than the above listed, there are many additions and changes that version 1.5 brings to the game. Make sure you check them out, and if you play Stardew Valley, expect to have a lot of new things to do!
