Last March, Ubisoft announced that they are remaking the 2006 arcade racer, Trackmania Nations. With the new name of Trackmania, it was set to be released on May 5th of this year.
However, as you may know, the world is currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, and this has caused a lot of issues, especially in the gaming world. Many companies are delaying releases, updates, and many other things.
Ubisoft is one of those companies affected, and thus the game has been delayed until July 1st.
In a blog post on Trackmania's website, Ubisoft Nadeo says, "As you may know, the biggest international Trackmania competition, the Trackmania ZrT Cup already was postponed due to COVID-19. Also, our teams have been adapting to working from home, and even though we already are back to a good level of efficiency we need some time to make up for the transition. As a result, we have decided to release the new Trackmania title on July 1st instead of May 5th."
This is almost a two-month delay, however, I am sure this will also give them the time to iron out some more of the game to make it even better.
To also help lessen the blow of the news, Ubisoft gave us a new gameplay trailer of the Trackmania remake, and it looks really good!
