Ubitus, a cloud gaming solutions provider, offered their cloud gaming solution to Focus Home Interactive to assist in releasing the cloud versions of A Plague Tale: Innocence, which was released today, and A Plague Tale: Requiem, which is planned to release in 2022.
The cloud versions of these games will only be available on the Nintendo Switch, and it will allow for the game to be available on this console, even though the hardware of the Nintendo Switch is not up to par to run the game.
Ubitus is known for having its hands in many of the available cloud versions of games on the Nintendo Switch. Although many of you know cloud gaming as services such as Google Stadia, GeForce Now, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, which offer you games on pretty much any device, Nintendo does offer some of its own games in the cloud.
Nintendo Switch owners can "download" the cloud versions of these games, which is essentially just a mini-game launcher, which will directly connect their Switch console into servers running the game on high-end GPUs. The same as the popular cloud gaming services that we know but less known or noticed.
“Focus Home Interactive is pleased to use Ubitus technology to bring the best-seller A Plague Tale: Innocence to all players around the world, including the upcoming sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem, on Nintendo Switch." - John Bert, Deputy CEO at Focus Home Interactive.
