The game has a lot of Breath of the Wild vibes, but although the Zelda game did inspire it, it is entirely different. You have a few things borrowed from the game, but overall, the game feels vastly different.
Genshin Impact is a role-playing action game that allows you to play a team of multiple characters, allowing you to switch out mid-combat, create epic combos between different elements, and even interact with the world using these elements. You can freeze water, fly in the air, burn things, and much more! For a free game, it is truly glorious.
However, one thing to note is that Genshin Impact is a character collector. It utilizes a gatcha system to collect these characters, and that is how the developers make money. However, fear not, the game is fully playable with the characters given to you, albeit some puzzles throughout the open world.
I have already started playing it, and if it were not for my day job and writing for this blog, I would probably still be playing it! The game entices you with its exciting story, vast open-world map, and the many hidden puzzles and items that can be found in this open-world. The thought of spending money on the game has yet to cross my mind, but I may spend a little on a game this good.
MiHoYo is known for making decent stories for there games. They are best known for Honkai Impact 3rd, and Genshin Impact adds another beautiful game to there catalog.
One thing to note, at this time, Genshin Impact is not available on any Cloud Gaming platforms, including Shadow. I found this out the hard way after I downloaded the game and tried to launch it, only to be met with a "Sorry, this game cannot be run on a Virtual Machine." MiHoYo responded to users' requests, saying that the game is currently not available for Virtual Machines.
This affected the PC version of Honkai Impact 3rd, but virtual machines were soon allowed in a later patch of the client. So I am hoping that Genshin Impact will receive the same treatment.
