This time on "Will it run Shadow?", we will be talking about another Mini Computer, the Wintel Pro. This device falls under the category of budget Mini PC's much like the AcePC AK1 I reviewed in the last post for "Will it run Shadow?".

This one, however, is nearly half the price, and a fair bit less power then the AcePC AK1. But, can it still run Shadow? Let us review the internal goodies of this Mini PC and see!

Processor

Let us beging with the processor. The Wintel Pro is running an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 with a base frequency of 1.44GHz, and a boost frequency of 1.92GHz.

This processor also contains Intel HD Graphics, with the ability to output at 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 60hz refresh rate. This processor is able to decode both H.264 and H.265 video streams, making Shadow's Low Bandwidth setting an option.

Memory

The Wintel Pro can be purchased with two different memory options. A 2GB DDR3L variant, and a 4GB DDR3L variant. Both options should run Shadow, however, since this machine is running windows 10, I would suggest opting for the 4GB DDR3L variant, as it will give you more memory to work with if Windows 10 decides to be a memory hog.

I/O Ports

2x USB 3.0
1x HDMI
Headphone/Mic Combo Interface
1X Ethernet Port
1x Micro SD Card Slot

This is where the Wintel Pro really falls for Shadow. With only two available USB slots, it limits your peripheral usage unless you purchase a USB dock to expand your options. The 1x HDMI output will allow for 1920 x 1080 resolution, without much issue. The manufacturer states that it can handle 4k, however, my research shows that the chip only supports 1080p at 60hz.

Storage

The 2GB DDR3L variant of the Wintel Pro comes with 32GB of eMMC storage. The 4GB DDR3L variant comes with 64GB of eMMC storage. Nowhere near a large amount, but should be enough to install Shadow and use it. You can expand this storage using the Micro SD Card slot.

Conclusion

Will this run Shadow? Yes it will! But, will it run it reliably? The answer to that question is... maybe. The processor should be able to handle a steady 1080p stream at 60hz, but you may get sporadic stutters if other software installed on this computer attempts to use the CPU.

Another negative to this device is that, from reports in the review section on Amazon, this device does not come with an activated copy of Windows 10. This could be false, but just be aware that some have reported this.

Will I recommend you purchase a device like this for Shadow? Honestly, probably not. It is cheap, but it is far less powerful then Mini PC's like the AcePC AK1, which for a bit more can handle a lot more thrown at it then this Mini PC can handle.
